Rarest Cars in the World

Even though most people have absolutely no chance of owning one of these cars, it doesn’t mean they aren’t fun to look at (or dream of!). These amazing supercars are so rare that you’ll probably never see one of them outside of this website or if you are lucky at an auto show.

While there is no definitive criteria that makes these cars “rare”, they do have some characteristics that we think puts them in this category. The fact that there were only a few produced, their vintage make, an exorbitantly high price tag, and extensive modifications to suit the tastes of rich customers are just a few of our reasons.

1961 Ferrari 250GT Spyder – 36 Made
One of the most expensive cars (roughly going for around $11 Million USD), the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Spyder came with 276 HP and a 3-litre V12 engine.

Sold in the market for about $1.5 Million USD, the Ferrari FXX is stocked with 6.3 L F140 V12 engine and 1036 HP.

The most expensive car of the late 90’s (over £950,000), Mercedes CLK-GTR Roadster comes with a 6.9 L V12 engine that produces 604 HP.

McLaren F1 LM – 5 Made
In 1993, McLaren F1 LM set the record for the fastest production car at 243 mph without the rev limiter – the record was not beaten until 2005 by Bugatti which reached 253 mph.
