Seeking a Solution to Sleep Apnea & Snoring Problems?

If snoring and frequent awakening during the night is leaving you fatigued during the day–or keeping your spouse from getting proper rest–you may be suffering from sleep apnea.
Obstructive sleep apnea or snoring is caused by the airway collapsing, not allowing air to flow freely to your lungs.  The FDA has approved two solutions to treat snoring and sleep apnea: a CPAP device and an oral appliance.

A CPAP treats sleep apnea and snoring by blowing air through a mask worn on the face, resulting in the airway opening.  While the CPAP does effectively treat sleep apnea and snoring, it is both cumbersome and uncomfortable–so much so that less than 50% of people who have tried a CPAP continue to use them.

A variety of oral appliances are available to treat sleep apnea and snoring by sustaining the lower jaw slightly forward. Oral appliances made by a dentist are snug to the teeth and less bulky than boil-and-bite mouthpieces.  Although an oral appliance made by a dentist is snug to the teeth and less bulky, it can cost consumers thousands of dollars.

Thermal fit trays by The American Sleep Union for some combine the best of both worlds: the ease of use of the boil-and-bite trays and the comfort and snug fit of the trays provided by dentists.  The American Sleep Union two-tray system consists of a semi-hard inner tray encompassed by an outer pliable blue tray that retains heat around the inner white tray, which has more time to form to your teeth.  It is said to be one of the most comfortable and snug-fitting trays on the market.
